PM Shehbaz Orders Property Seizures in Crackdown on Human Trafficking Networks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has intensified the battle against human trafficking by directing immediate confiscation of properties and assets belonging to traffickers. This decisive move aims to dismantle smuggling networks and serve as a warning to those involved in such illegal activities.

The call for action comes in the wake of a tragic boat capsize in Greece last month, which claimed the lives of over 80 Pakistanis, with 36 survivors and dozens presumed dead. An investigation led by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) uncovered the involvement of human smugglers and corrupt officials, leading to the arrest of two FIA officers and the dismissal of over 30 others.

During a high-level meeting, the prime minister praised recent efforts to hold government officials accountable and called for strict disciplinary actions against facilitators. The crackdown on trafficking networks marks a crucial step in combating illegal migration and ensuring justice for victims.
