Akora Khattak, Pakistan – Thousands of mourners gathered at the Jamia Haqqania seminary in Akora Khattak to attend the funeral of Hamidul Haq, a religious scholar and son of the late Maulana Samiul Haq, a key figure linked to the Taliban.
Haq was among seven victims killed in a suicide bombing that took place within a mosque on the seminary’s premises. The attack, which remains unclaimed, occurred just days before the holy month of Ramadan, raising concerns over security in the region.
Authorities have released an image of the suspected bomber and announced a reward for information leading to his identification. Investigators are working to determine the motive and potential perpetrators behind the attack.
Jamia Haqqania, one of Pakistan’s most influential seminaries, has long been associated with religious education and political influence. The bombing has sparked widespread condemnation, with leaders calling for enhanced security measures to prevent future incidents.
Security forces have intensified their efforts to track those responsible, as officials urge the public to remain vigilant.
